On top of being one of the hardest exercises to do, pull ups can be dangerous, because of the position the body is in. To start a pull up, you must begin from a dead hang then pull all of your body weight up . This puts stress on the shoulders leading to rotary cuff tears. Try doing inverted rows. Theyre like pull ups just on an angle. This way there is less strain on the shoulder and this helps strengthen the back.
